Do This Before Listing Your Home

Do This Before Listing Your Home

If you are considering listing your home for sale you should hope for a quick sale at the highest price possible right? However in order to do that you need to be sure your property puts its best foot forward. Presenting the home properly on the market is so critically important, but how to do you do that? New bathroom remodel, new granite counters, new flooring, or maybe a fireplace make over?

The reality is you need to start with the basics, yes the basics. Don’t worry too much about the big items but instead concentrate on just the basics. Good curb appeal, great lawn, fresh exterior paint, clean windows, clean flooring, fresh caulking, and much more. Nothing big, nothing over the top, just take care of what you do have. Present the inside of the home as best as possible and that means a clean, fresh home where the TLC shows.

Why is this so critically important? If your home lacked TLC it would look & smell like a rental property and you don’t want to present your home light that right? When a buyer sees all the TLC they gain confidence in paying the price of the home and tend to think twice about it. There is no doubt from a buyer who has confidence the owner has taken care of the property. So be sure to take care of the basics and give your home all the TLC it deserves so it shows when it comes time to hit the market!

With a heart of a teacher I look to educate my clients about the process of buying, selling or renting real estate.  I strongly feel an informed and educated consumer will make better decisions and be less likely to be taken advantage of.
