/Would you buy a home with out seeing it in person?
Recently WFAA 8, a local news station, did a story about this exact situation. They showed a buyer from New York purchase a home in Dallas, all done virtually with out ever stepping foot in the property. Would you ever do this?
The reality is this is becoming more and more common in this day especially with the pandemic that is in effect. While this is something we will see more and more, I have actually been doing this for several years now. I have helped clients purchase a home in similar situations.
I have helped clients purchase a home and it was all done through video, which sounds crazy, but I promise you my clients were not crazy. They all have their own reasons on why they can not view it in person, most of the time it revolves around time, work and finances. Instead they rely on my guidance, video and often someone they trust who is local and can give their own opinion as well.
I offer being able to accommodate their situation by filming a walk through of the home in detail via video. We can do a walk through via FaceTime or I can upload it to a Youtube video and send it to them to view at their own convenience. I have found the process to be rather easy and gives buyers more confidence.
Now I don't always just do this for clients who are out of town, I actually do this for local clients all the time, actually very often. The scenario usually is the client can not take off to view the property during the work day so I go out and shoot a video and send it to them. The client can view it from the comfort of their work or where ever they may be. In a market where properties move rather fast this has turned out to be a popular option for my clients.
While this may not be for everyone I do offer it, and it helps people to a certain degree. For example I recently had a client on vacation a few hours from home and they saw a home they really liked online. I immediately went out and shot a video, sent it to them via a Youtube link and by that afternoon they were viewing it from their vacation spot. They viewed the property without leaving their vacation and in that particular case they viewed enough to know the property needed more work than they were up for.
Again this can be applied for so many scenarios and I am available to make it happen for my clients. Yet another way I better SERVE my clients!
